It’s unforgettable and impossible to visit Graceland and not be aware of the qualities that make this twenty acre property and its main house and guest house, outbuildings and gardens so very special. It’s a beautiful curving road through wooded areas and past open fields of the rolling countryside; and past intriguing buildings to get to the main house. You catch glimpses of the main house but don’t really see it until you get there. It reveals itself slowly. It was built about twenty years ago and was designed by noted New Orleans architect Davis Lee Jahncke , Jr. incorporating materials and designs that give it terrific style and a European flair. The living area has a cathedral ceiling that soars to nineteen feet. Over 10,000 old bricks were used in the construction as well as granite and pink Belgium flagstones used for floors, old cypress, and period windows from an old school. It has a pool and overlooks a pond and gazebos, a sculpture garden and trails.
